    SI SECONDARY SCHOOLS’ CYCLING CHAMPIONSHIPS

Our CGHS cycling girls gained 2 gold, 3 silver and 2 bronze medals in frosty conditions at the South Island Schools' Cycling Champs in the holidays. This put us third equal on school points out of sixteen schools who were competing. Our team was small, but very successful.

The photo is of our gold medal winning U16 time trial team consisting of Aleisha Scott, Amelia Persson, Sammi Ogle and Caitlin Titheridge.

Caitlin Titheridge was also place 2nd in the U14 individual time trial and 1st in the U14 scratch race. Aleisha Scott finished 2nd in the U16 individual time trial and Sammi Ogle placed 2nd in the U16 scratch race. In the U17 category, Kate Smith gained 3rd place in both the individual time trial and the scratch race, with Christine Lambley gaining 2nd place in the U17 scratch race.

    Well done girls!

    • ANNUAL WINTER EXCHANGE TO WAITAKI GIRLS’ HIGH SCHOOL, OAMARU

We had our annual Winter Exchange earlier this week down in Oamaru against Waitaki Girls’ High School. We were treated to a fine but chilly day with all teams really enjoying the experience. The students were billeted out overnight and were treated very nicely by the Waitaki students. For some of our girls it was the first time being billeted out so it was good that they all had a great time.
