On Thursday 11 May, a large group of keen CGHS runners hit the road at the annual Canterbury Road Race champs. It was a wet and cold day but this was no obstacle for the fit girls who ran their hearts out for 3 km. We came away with some very pleasing results. The Year 9 girls did very well with top 10 results from Sophie Williamson placing 5th and Rosie Trotter 9th. The CGHS Year 9 girls’ also took out 1st place in the team’s event. In the U16 Girls event, Lili Ovendale was in the top 10, placing 4th. We had great depth within our team – taking out the U16 team event. Overall a great run by everyone and a good indicator leading into a big month of racing with the National Cross Country looming in less than a month.
